Religious Studies

The Religious Studies Program is dedicated to the study of sacred texts such as the Bible, and other writings and expressions of religious history and human imagination.

Respecting the secular nature of the college, and recognizing the traditional separation of church and state, we approach the study of religion with the highest standards of fairness and academic discipline.

For our students, we seek to open all texts with a well-integrated critique based on literary, historical, and social analysis, as we seek to expose the core genius in various religious traditions, especially as they have contributed to the shaping of the general culture.

Please send any questions or suggestions about the Religious Studies Program to Eric Thompson.
